6th year pitching coach Dana Gomez is no stranger to COS
Giant Baseball. A graduate of Redwood High School , Dana played from
1981-1983 at COS for legendary coaches Bert Holt and Pete Beiden. While at
COS Dana posted a two year record of 19-5 as a starting pitcher. He also
earned 1st team all league honors two years in a row.
Dana moved on to pitch at Cal State Hayward, being named
the Most Valuable Pitcher in his junior year. Dana was selected in the
1986 winter draft by the Boston Red Sox and played two and a half
seasons, with a stint at the triple A level, before ending his
professional career.
Dana returned to COS in 1988 as assistant to Coach Holt. He spent
three years at Redwood High School as the pitching coach prior to
joining the COS staff.
Dana and his wife Tammy have a son, Chase. He has two
other children, Nicole and Erica.
