Former Giant short stop Josh Menchaca is in his 1st
year as an assistant coach on the COS staff.
Joshua was a 3 year varsity starter for the
baseball team at Reedley High School in Reedley, CA and graduated in
2003. Red Shirted at COS in 2004 and played 2005-2006. Was a starter on
the 2006 team that won 16 straight conference games and was an
all-conference honorable mention in 2006. Transferred to Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL in the fall of 2006, was on
the 2008 team (44-13) that was the Sun Conference Champions (18-3),
Region XIV Champions (3-0), and finished 5th place in the
NAIA World Series. Coached for one year (2009) at ERAU under Coach Randy
Stegall, the 2009 Eagles were the Sun Conference Champions (20-4), Sun
Conference Tournament Champions (3-0), Opening Round National Tournament
Champions (3-0), and made a 2009 NAIA World Series Appearance, coached
against former COS teammates Jake burns, Anthony Lowell, and Joe
Halderman at the 2009 NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. Graduated
from ERAU with a Bachelors Degree in Aviation Business Administration in
May of 2009 and is currently working on his Masters degree in Sports
Management with an Intercollegiate Athletic Administration
concentration, from California University of Pennsylvania.
