Coach Donnie Wilson

Former Giant centerfielder Donnie Wilson begins his first year as an assistant coach on the COS staff. His main duty is working with the outfielders and recruiting.

Donnie graduated from Tulare Union High School in 2002, where he was the Senior Male Athlete of the Year and all league in football, soccer, and baseball. While at COS he was named to the all conference team in 2004 and 2005 as an outfielder.

After COS he moved on to play at Western Carolina University, earning his BS degree in History. In conference play as a junior he led the team in on base percentage (.479, 5th in conference), walks (16) and was third in average (.360).

During his senior year WCU finished top 5 in the nation in runs and top 10 in hits, doubles, home runs, and slugging percentage. Donnie helped WCU win the 2007 Regular Season Southern Conference Championship, earning them a spot in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. As the centerfielder at the Chapel Hill Regional he hit .333 and helped his team to the championship game where they lost to the #3 National Seed and College World Series runner up North Carolina, after there come from behind win in the 9th inning, 6-5.

Donnie is currently working on his M.S. degree in Physical Education/ Exercise and Sport Science online at the University of Central Missouri.
